Before the session started, Wanda and I warmed up with Jackson by playing with him, never will you hear us say “smile,” these images that we captured are his true expressions while playing and interacting with him. I’m going to admit it, Jackson was really easy to work with and gave us smiles and cute expression through the whole session.

We love what we do and hope that it shows, below are just a few of our favorites from the session. We hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed taking them!

Sometimes tummy poses are tough on little ones but Jackson would look right into the lens of the camera with his beautiful blue eyes! Hello Mr. Photographer he thought.

Amanda had this cute little flyers hat with her and I could not resist capturing some images of Jackson wearing it. Again he is such a happy baby!

When Jackson laid his little hands on this block it was tough getting it back from him. Never get between a baby and his blocks!

Amanda also had this cute knitted cap, we just had to, he might kill us when he gets older for taking pictures of him in it but he looked sooo cute!

It was a pleasure having the opportunity to photograph Jackson at this age, thanks Mom and Dad, this little man is welcomed back at anytime!

For me it was love at first sight, I remember as if it was yesterday… the first time I met Wanda.

In 1987 I worked at the neighborhood burger joint, “Burger King,” (I know, it was either there or “Dunkin Donuts”) living  in Cohoes, NY we did not have many options. To be honest I really enjoyed working there, it was easy, I worked with a lot of friends and I just love the Whoppers with cheese.   Did I mention that I was 17 year old, man those were the days. Besides being my work place it was a hangout for a lot of my friends during the time, usually Juniors and Seniors and after work we would all hang out for hours.

I met Tonya Parker (Wanda’s sister) there, who was really funny and always had everyone in stitches. Tonya and I became friends and some days we skipped school, (OK maybe some days more than others) anyways, one day during a snow storm we skipped some afternoon classes and were walking down a steep hill in my neighborhood, did I mention the hill was steep. Suddenly I see Tonya take a tumble and she goes flying down the hill! As I screamed out her name, (I obviously was laughing my butt off!) I watch her tumble to the bottom of the hill. She ended up ripping her pants, so we were going to stop at her parents house so that she could change prior to going to the hangout at Burger King. I can’t remember quite what happen but we ended up spending hours at her house, where I met her parents, who were very cool and really nice. Of course the loved me.

This is where I am about to meet the love of my life, any minute now….

Tonya and her parents lived in a second floor apartment, suddenly I hear this huge bang of an outside door slamming, than very loud stomps of feet coming up the stairs, the kitchen door opens and slams again, a girl comes through, walking heavy and proceeds to come through the kitchen, heading to her bedroom where she finishes with one last slam of her bedroom door. I look at Tonya and ask “Who is that?” “It’s my sister Wanda,” she states. That was my first time I laid eyes on the girl who would become the love of my life. Her name is Wanda, she was 15 years old.

The next week I was working a shift at Burger King when I saw Wanda speaking with my Manager in one of the booths, I motioned for him to find out what was going on and he informed me that she was interviewing for a job. I asked him to definitely hire her and he said he was already going to.   It was definitely love at first sight and I could not get her out of my mind. Needless to say I was looking forward in working with her, yea right… work.

So fast forward six months, the first time I had enough nerve to ask Wanda out. She turned me down, “I just want to be friends” she says. UUURRRGGG!

A few months later I purchased a sterling silver necklace for her, it cost me only 100 bucks but back then it felt like a thousand on my salary! Anyways, I felt embarrassed that I spent this much money on a girl who was not even going out with me, so when I gave it to her, I told her I won it in some contest. That’s right I lied but I did not want to make her feel uncomfortable. It made me very happy just seeing her where it.

Of course I asked her out again, in fact seven times and each time she said she did not want to wreck our friendship. I hated that!

So even though it was difficult, I stopped hanging out with her, no calls, no nothing! Two weeks went by and Wanda called me. She said that she realized that she was in love with me and it took the break for her to realize it. Of course I was ecstatic! Like I said before it was love at first site, for me!

A few years later we got engaged, I was not very romantic, a little nervous, we ordered Chinese food and was eating it on the floor of my bedroom when I asked the BIG question.
She said yes as she began to cry. I was the luckiest man on earth. I was 20 years old, she was only 18. We planned a year engagement and would get married on March 2, 1991. Wanda was just turning 19 and I just turned 21 but we were ready to take on the world as Mr. & Mrs.

On March 2, 2013, we will be celebrating 22 years of marriage and I love her as much as the first day I saw her, slamming the doors and all. We do everything together, we love action movies, golf, spending time with family & friends, hiking, camping, traveling, art, NYC and our cutie pie beagle, named Vega. We love photographing and creating together. You can often find us competing for the best image and trying to wow our customers. We have the unique & great opportunity over the years to work together in something that we absolutely love to do, our photography business is very important to us and we work very hard at making it a success. Although we have been unable to have children of our own, we love them and customers can immediately see that once they have had a chance to see us in action. Wanda and I are very happy together and would not change anything (well we wouldn’t mind wining the State Lottery!) but don’t take just my word for it, feel free to ask Wanda at anytime. Now if I can just loose some weight so that my ring fits again!

I love you Wanda, your my true love, my soul mate and I knew it from the first moment we met. Happy 22nd Anniversary! Love, Bruce xoxoxo

Here they are relaxing in front of the their home with curious looks on their faces wondering who we were and what were we doing there.

We started taking some images in the warmth of their home and when Belle realized what we were doing, she wanted no part of it. In about one minute (and one shot) I leaned the Belle was a “free spirit” and she was not a big fan about sitting in a certain spot, regardless of the great light coming through the window. I swear I could read her mind and she was saying “stupid humans,” what do they want from me? Sophie on the other hand being a puppy still was very friendly and wanted to play! We were able to capture some great images of both dogs but Sophie was definitely showing off, as if this was her “Vogue” debut.

Here is Sophie relaxing on her special ottoman but only after getting special permission from her Mom.  Big dogs… big drool! I absolutely love this image!Here Sophie is hamming it up for us, peaking through the banister on the steps. I might be a little bias but man she is really cute!The below photo is one of my favorites, how could anyone look into those eyes and not smile? Here Sophie is showing her skills at sitting, if my dog sat like this I would let her eat at the kitchen table! So once Belle realized that we were there to snap some photos, she quickly escaped outside for some private time and relaxation. You know, if you can’t beat them, join them! So we spent the remaining of the session outside where she was most comfortable. She was such a “Diva,” she was super friendly but as soon as I pointed the camera at her she ran away. No worries, I can work from afar as well! Belle has a lot of character in those eyes. You can tell she is well educated and acts well beyond her years! Here she lays under her favorite bushes in the front yard, relaxing and watching us play in the snow. Hi  I’m Belle, I am super gorgeous but don’t like cameras or the paparazzi! I’m Sophie, I like to play and run in the snow. When the humans aren’t looking, I like to build Snowmen and eat a lot of treats! Here Sophie is taking her favorite toy for a ride and could spend hours chewing it in the snow. Belle & Sophie do love their playtime with each other. At anytime they could be found wrestling and playing in the wet snow.

It was awesome having the opportunity to work with these ladies and we hope to see them both again soon. A special thanks to their Mommy Susan, we had such a great time with Belle & Sophie… Thank You!

Imagine! what we can CREATE for YOU!

As is the story with Anne & Will, who will be getting married on January 4th, 2014 at Franklin Plaza in Troy. So when I heard that we had 3 inches of fresh falling snow coming last Wednesday I called them immediately to schedule their session. I have to admit that we were pretty lucky with the weather because it was a balmy 30 degrees outside. The snow was definitely falling, sometimes slow and sometimes fast. I was ready to take full advantage of it.

Anne & Will are a cute couple and were very excited for the session. Yaddo was like a winter wonderland, with the fresh fallen snow sticking to everything and it made the perfect background. Engagement sessions are so important because it gives us a chance to work with the couple prior to their wedding day. Let’s face it, that most of us tend to be a little uncomfortable when put in front of a camera and this session will help the couple to relax and know what to expect for their upcoming wedding. We always suggest that if your wedding is in the winter, try having your engagement in the winter and just have fun!

As you can see, Anne & Will were complete professionals and easy to work with. I always love that first moment when couples look into each others eyes in front of me as I am photographing it. “Click, Click,” that’s it, that’s the one… finally their shields are down and I am capturing the “real” them! Just like your wedding day we are trying to tell a “story” and this engagement session is a perfect example of all the different images that we can capture and create. I was honored to have the opportunity to capture these amazing images for Anne & Will and can’t wait for the opportunity again, on their wedding day.

Yaddo Gardens is the perfect place for a winter engagement session, it looks like it came out of a snow globe. The bottom right image here is one of my favorites… I love those smiles that they are giving to each other

What a great looking couple, I love working with them!

Anne was so prepared, with extra gloves, pants and even a towel for them to sit on. Will was so easy going and was pretty much up for anything.

That’s right our couples get a lot of kissing time at the engagement session. Practice makes perfect and these two nailed it!

“A winter wonderland,” this image was enhanced a little to bring out those amazing snow flakes but yes it’s real!

I absolutely love these two images and Anne was really having fun with it.

Another favorite, I love photographing environmental images like this one… I’m thinking maybe they should hang this above the fireplace.

Here you can see perfectly that those smiles are natural and not forced… LOVE IT!

One thing that Yaddo always delivers on and that’s the romance. It looks like a famous movie scene to me

Here is Will in all his winter glory. Forget about it girls, this man is already taken.

It’s not a great snow day unless you have time to make some snow angels. You can tell who really has the “wings” in this relationship.

We had beautiful weather for our first Quicktakes Program and a great location in Saratoga Springs. A great big thank you goes out to the host & hostess of the first Quicktakes Program, Rick & Jennifer Barthelmas of Saratoga Springs. Everyone had such a fantastic time and all of the children were great to work with. We were able to capture some great images from the event and wanted to share some of the photos with everyone… ENJOY!

Camryn warmed up to the camera immediately and gave us her million dollar smile.

Her brother Evan was hamming it up for the camera as well and look how beautiful their little sister Ashtyn is!

These three look like models and were a lot of fun to photograph.

Ryan Ercoline was adorable and listened to Mrs. Wanda intently as we captured this great image of him.

The next two, Lillyan & William Doltz,  we have had the pleasure of photographing many times before, we have had the pleasure of photographing both of them as babies and it now blows our mind to see them growing up before our eyes.

I just had to add this other photo of William… he is such a handsome Dude!

Now when it comes to Aiden Barthelmas, you might hear me talk a little gibberish, I don’t know why but he seems to like it. We can always count on getting a smile from him. Thanks again to Jennifer & Rick for being such great hosts!

We also love this next series of photos, first off is a black & white classic photo of Ashtyn & Aiden… to cute for words! We absolutely love the image of Paige Lundin looking like a princess! Her eyes are angelic and her smile is breathtaking.

A little late because of our very busy schedule this year but I still wanted to share a great wedding that we photographed of Kathryn & Evan who were married at the Hall of Springs on May 29th, 2011. They had a beautiful sunny day where the sun was bright, the sky was blue, and everybody was excited for the two of them to say I Do!
